14This Latin translation was not completed, but broke off at proposition 39, and is considered poorly executed for Adelard’s lack of understanding of both Arabic and astronomy. Lemay has shown that the Centiloquium was not actually written by Ptolemy, but is a forgery by Ahmed ibn Yusuf, an astrologer from Cairo, c.920.
